Travis Silvers, Director of Guitar Studies, SJDCC
David Chapman, Director of Guitar Studies, MJC
Guy Powell, Director of Guitar Studies, Columbia College
Three Guitarists, David Chapman, Guy Powell and Travis Silvers, came together to share the world of the guitar with students and music aficionados. Our collaboration began as colleagues in the classrooms of learning institutions throughout the California Central Valley.
Our collective efforts created “Three Guitars” as an outlet to delve into the often-overlooked guitar trio repertoire. We actively seek to develop the literature by arranging, transcribing and composing for our trio. In doing so we invite you to explore with us the various musical genres that culturally enrich the world of the guitar.
A vibrant guitar atmosphere fills our surroundings, which enables us to bring together students, guitarists, music appreciators and the communities of the Central Valley and Sierra Foothills.
As we look into the future, our vision regards this project as the seed that will eventually germinate into the Central Valley Guitar Society, where enthusiasts, students, and guitar lovers can meet, listen, play and discuss all things guitar. We also envision creating a guitar festival and competition that will bring together professional performers, students and our communities.
It is our ongoing pleasure to perform together. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
